| If you have decided to commission a piece of art, I first want to THANK YOU and say how much I look forward to being Your Very Own Artist! You will need to contact me soon to share your situation and any possible ideas or materials you’d like me to use to create your special piece. If you are planning on having your personal photos utilized (see samples in my gallery for ideas) photos may be emailed or sent "snail mail." All original photos will be returned with completed artwork. I offer FREE CONSULTATIONS! Please contact brooke@yourveryownartist.com to start your consultation. Be sure to include a brief description of what you are interested in and how I can meet your needs. Be sure to include your contact information, any questions you may have and a basic overview of the type of work you are seeking so that I can effectively respond to your inquiry. Expect a real relationship with a real person when we meet for the consultation! I am available through the email, telephone, Instant Messaging (I have both AOL and Yahoo Messenger capabilities) for our meeting. We will talk about the type of piece you are looking for as well as any ideas or suggestions you already have. From there the procedure generally works as follows: For smaller and simpler pieces (example: cd covers, logo design, custom greeting cards etc) the process is fairly simple. I will take your basic concept or suggestions as discussed in our consultation and create a rough draft(s) laying out options for your consideration along with a price quote. This way I can make any corrections or implement any further suggestions you may have BEFORE I begin the final artwork. At this point in time I require a 30% deposit of the quoted rate to begin the final piece. Once your artwork is finished, I will email you a digital approval image. Once I have your approval and final payment I will ship your piece. Wait time for artwork varies according to seasons and Holidays but expect at least 1-2 weeks for smaller and simpler pieces. Reservations are recommended 2-3 months before Christmas! I always try to meet special dates if you ask early enough! For larger or more complex pieces (example: memory books, multiples such as invitations or party/wedding favors, paintings etc) it is possible that I will create a composition design using your ideas, photos, quotes, poems, etc. particularly if we are combining more than one media in a specified piece. I do this in various forms depending on the type of artwork you are requesting. I will then either email an image (sketch or Photoshop composite in jpeg format) or send you a link to a “hidden” page on my website which will allow you to view the work in process for your consideration. A final price quote will also accompany the composition design. This way I can make any corrections or implement any further suggestions you may have BEFORE I begin the final artwork. Once your artwork is finished, I will email you a digital approval image. Once I have your approval and final payment I will ship your piece. Wait time for artwork varies according to seasons and Holidays but expect to at least 4-6 weeks for larger or more complex pieces. Reservations are recommended 2- 3 months before Christmas! I always try to meet special dates if you ask early enough! I will also provide a Certificate of Authenticity with each piece you commission from me. me. I believe this is a valuable way to ensure that your artwork is a genuine hand crafted (or (or digitally designed) piece. Understanding that you may be purchasing this as a gift, I offer the the option of custom wrapping as well a custom designed gift card to match the artwork created created for an additional (yet small) fee. I’m also offering to ship to a gift recipient address. m I'm sure all of you will want to of course see the finished product - hold it, touch it, soak in the the aesthetics – but just in case you are so confidant I do the great job I claim the service is is available. Pricing: It is important to keep in mind that I CAN work with all budgets. Unfortunately, the work that I do cannot be narrowed down to specific pricing. Each piece is unique, each piece requires different tools/resources, each piece requires different amounts of time and let’s face it, each customer requires different amounts of special handling. I know it’s tough to gage whether or not my services are within your budget by not having a specific price plan for your review, but please, I encourage you to contact me, brooke@yourveryownartist.com , for a ballpark quote. Once we schedule your consultation and get down to specifics I can further pin down an exact figure. I do reserve the right to change that quote upon completion of your project. It is quite common for complex pieces to start with one idea and have the dynamics of the artwork take us in a whole different direction. In those cases, time and supplies will have to be re-evaluated. However, I will never charge you a different price than agreed upon without your knowledge. AND, you have my word, I am reasonable in both my pricing and ethics. Payment: First off you get a FREE CONSULTATION to discuss specifics for your customized piece. Once we have the nuts and bolts in place and you have approved the draft (see above for full process) I REQUIRE a 30% deposit of your quote to be PAID IN ADVANCE before I start the work. Once your artwork is finished, I will email a digital approval image along with the remaining balance (including any changes in pricing if discussed and deemed necessary). I will only ship a piece after I receive your FINAL PAYMENT. Payment may be made online through PayPal (it is not necessary to have an account with PayPal to make online payments for commissions). I have had years of success with them on eBay and they have been most helpful with my online setup. They are a SECURE site, so pay with confidence! An invoice for your secure online payment will be emailed to you. I also accept cashier's checks and money orders. Refunds: Not that I encourage cancelling your service because I am very intent on meeting all your needs and ensuring you come away from Your Very Own Artist with a satisfying experience, but we all know how life works and sometimes situations are beyond our control. If you absolutely must cancel you service we can discuss a reasonable refund at that time. I aim to please so no worries! Please ask any questions you might have and I can’t wait to be Your Very Own Artist! |
